Environment (Birth)

A Safe Environment for Birth

Ingredients for a great family in the making :

Safe birth culture

One of the most safe – for mum and baby bonding – must surely be The Farm – please look at their statistics, before thinking further about the big medical machinery all set up to ‘help’ you do what you are born to do.

There is lots of material out there to help you consider the best options for you when it comes to the birth of your child. Here are a few you could review:

Perhaps first watch Ina May (30 minutes)

Perhaps also add this to your mix . . .

Baby needs the blood it has not needed within its body (as it is breathing via the cord from mum) to come back into her/his body to then breathe independently. Perhaps start investigating how your baby needs to be respected and kept whole. Physiological third stage is what nature expects of all mammals.

You need rest to make yourself whole again, so you can be the mum your baby needs – rest, supportive birthing culture and good nutritional support

Traditional steaming

If we could stop being in a First World head-space, we could steam as traditional cultures still do this. It would be a lot easier to just do it anyway to start somewhere – you do not need a fancy anything.

My body model comes from PNG – Papua New Guinea. She is showing us what the older aunties did – after birth and to ensure that a woman’s body works perfectly – at all ages . . You do not need to wait till you have a chair all set up – or buy a special anything . .  A bowl of just boiled water – with herbs in it – and a blanket/some form of material to hold the steam in – and so it goes up inside – and we have our legs apart as we do want the steam up inside.

In the village it would be – as the water cools down – you end up sitting in it and then washing within

We MUST have the vaginal opening being accessible.
When women are a lot larger – it is not enough just to have her on the chair, sitting up prettily – least she is to sit forwards – hence the foot stool.

Legs apart . .

And – leaning forwards . .

Ideally in my new extremely expensive carry-anywhere chair – we need ‘stirrups’ – on the side so she can sit forwards and be at  the right angle.

Obviously we are in the start up stages with this arrangement – as the hole is way too large . .All that steam has to go within us. The old style commode is sitting as a testament to what else is easily sourced.

Cases from clinic. .
75 year old Italian lady who has been ‘cooking her pussy’ ever since I mentioned it over 2 1/2 years ago. She is less wrinkled in her face, is sleeping ‘like an angel’, is so much more relaxed, has no more of the recurrent bladder infections, has lost her kidney stones, and her pain levels (previously she was ‘riddled’ with arthritis) are minute relative to before. All of her friends ridicule her – as it is not of their culture.  She wondered over the decades why women of other cultures looked so much younger and more sprightly – and they all to a one – told her – “you white women do not look after yourself – after babies or generally”.

Here is the way to do so  .
Simple cheaply and at home – herbs? Grow them yourself..

Enjoy this essential part of being woman. .

Heather’s Journey

Heather Bruce has been an acupuncture practitioner and consultant, naturopath, herbalist and lifestyle counselor since opening her first natural health care practice in central Brisbane, Australia in early 1979.

Her key interests are in all levels of health and well-being: especially in exploring the nature of disease, and its contribution to our life tapestry. She is most known for her cutting edge contribution in inclusive, hands on holistic health – usually where answers are not easily found.

Heather has attended a colossal amount of residential and weekend courses, with 10,000’s hours of personal research and learning, collecting a massive research library whilst maintaining currency in her many chosen fields.

Often as a single mother, Heather has continued teaching and mentoring others. Her life revolves around researching and developing teaching tools, assisting all levels of acupuncture and midwifery themed workshops and personal self help searchers. There is a huge collection of resources in the form of instructional websites, eBooks and packages – including self education trainings and apps.

None of this would have been possible without the discovery of the Antakarana meditation in 1990. Throughout the torrid Kathryn years, this and the use of crystals, Reiki, the introduction of the Aura Soma range and, and of singing her heart out . .

Internationally teaching and presenting, Heather is now spreading her influence in webinars and in online courses and membership sites. Heather’s Gentling Ways and ‘Living Ligaments’ are Heather‘s current projects – training more practitioners internationally into her own Moving Blockages style of holistic heartful hands-on health care, resulting in all levels of energy body transformation.

Recently setting a healing centre in Brisbane to ground this work, Heather is usually in the Life Alignment Centre – 10 Kitchener St Coorparoo – though in summer more likely in her healing sanctuary in the West Coast of the South Island of New Zealand – alternating the two venues when not teaching internationally or on retreat with her students.

Spiritual bathing

We all know that we are more than the bits that make up our bodies. All cultures have had a non physical component in their healing work.

Spiritual bathing, or general space clearing is to balance what may be excess energy from too much focus, intense anything – including happiness – or ‘stress’ including watching the events as they unfold on the media. Do we really need all this in our sacred space? Home is where we hide away from the world – why bring it and all that drama into your life? May be in the form also of attention such as when being a performer, or a speaker, can lead to a charge in that person’s auric field which in turn can lead to a heaviness, or restlessness in their being. Different versions  of Feng Shui, dowsing and clearing are seen in most cultures and traditions.

Spiritual Bathing is an ancient ritual found within the history, if not the current practices of most cultures. There are  variations, however the essence is the same. The belief that water is sacred and purifying, can protect and cleanse from negative influences as well as used to mark rites of passage is well known across most human endeavours – and is found within religious experiences.

The Spiritual Bathing practice through the ways of The Maya holds a focus on vitality of the spirit, well outside religion. Beyond talking therapies – it is  regenerative, and gives a sense of renewal and of rebirth.

The Maya Spiritual Bathing is a ritual using Prayer as a Medicine Song, burning Copal ( a resin incense), plants collected with prayer, and the main ingredient – pure water. This is an extremely powerful tool – yet is gentle on people of all ages, in particular children who are generally more sensitive than the grown de-sensitised adult.

  • Susto Fright or Trauma
  • Pesar Grief
  • Tristeza Sadness
  • Coraje Anger
  • El Ojo/Ojo Caliente Hot eye
  • Mal Ojo Evil eye
  • Envidia Envy or jealousy

Spiritual Bathing will also alleviate

  • Soul loss
  • Astral fragments
  • Night terrors
  • Bullying
  • Restlessness with babies/new mothers who have had too many visitors

A simple thing all can do is with intention and gratiti0ude ask a plant to help you – ask which one wishes to = especially your rosemary plant – pick a  twig – or two. Get a clean glass bowl, pure water (not tap ideally) and ask some flowers for guidance – add them to the water, leave in the sun a while, then dip your rosemary in and sprinkle the water from the lustre bowl over your head and through your energy fields, whilst asking for assistance and clearance – anyone can – you may be very surprised at how clear you then feel.
Perhaps extend this practice to the are in and around your house, your children, where there has been discord – keep dipping back in the lustre bowl. Thank all the energies that have helped you. Gratitude for all we have is a graceful way of allowing all that could be to resonate higher for you. A very different form of ‘smudging’ and one that will at least centre you to being more mindful of your surroundings and what impacts upon you and your life.

Session Benefits

Benefits for Women

Normally the uterus sits slightly above the bladder in the centre of the pelvis, about 30-40mm above the pubic bone.

It is held in place by muscles, the vaginal wall and ligaments that attach it to the pelvis.

These ligaments stretch to accommodate a growing fetus inside and to allow movement when the bladder or bowel is full.

The ligaments and muscles can weaken and loosen, causing the uterus to move downward, forward, backward or to one side or the other.

A tilted or prolapsed uterus can be the source of a multitude of symptoms.

Women are often told, there is nothing that can be done.

Treatment options may include the birth control pill, muscle relaxants, or surgery.

There are a great many physical and emotional symptoms that can be addressed and prevented with these simple, non-invasive massage techniques.

When reproductive organs shift, they can constrict normal flow of blood and lymph, and disrupt nerve connections.

Just a little extra weight sitting on blood and lymph vessels can cause pain and discomfort throughout the different systems in the body.

The natural balance of the body is restored in the pelvic area and the surrounding organs by shifting the uterus back into place.

The massage helps flush toxins and restore nutrients to help tone tissue and bring hormones back to normal levels.

This is essential for healthy reproductive functioning, such as painless periods, healthy pregnancy, effective labor and birth.

Old scars and adhesions from invasive treatments such as fibroid tumors, endometriosis, and cesarean delivery are eased when addressed by uterine massage.

In addition, digestion, urinary and bladder problems can be helped.

Benefits for Men

Men benefit greatly from these technqiues as well.

By ensuring a full blood supply to the prostate, the abdominal massage helps to prevent swelling and inflammation.

Men often feel a distinct difference in blood flow after a treatment.

The massage can relieve prostate swelling, and also help with:

  • varicose veins,
  • premature ejaculation,
  • some impotency problems and
  • the need to urinate frequently.

Digestive and Emotional Benefits for Men and Women

Individuals with digestive disorders benefit greatly from the application of these techniques.

Many of our common disorders such as:

  • Irritable Bowel Syndrome,
  • Indigestion,
  • Constipation, and
  • heartburn

are treated with antacids, muscle relaxants, and a variety of other medications.

These treatments address symptoms, not the causes.

The Arvigo Techniques give the upper abdomen a deep, thorough massage which loosens tight muscles around the stomach and the arteries. This improves the blood supply to the vital digestive and eliminative organs.

The diaphragm is gently massaged allowing relaxation of tight musculature.

Symptoms alleviated by Maya Massage

Well Parents

Prospective parents knew to be in the best condition they could be – common sense dictates that mum being well means baby has the best chance for an easy life.

There are now many medical excuses . . . mostly around the women’s age and apparent gyne conditions. In a few short decades, the plummeting male fertility means now a handful of apparently normal LOOKING sperm are considered ‘fertile’, when in the past almost all were expected to look and to behave as sperm should – vigorously swimming for the goal.

This has thus meant that the resultant fetuses are not necessarily fit for independent life – making all the scanning and testing and worries seem so normal now.

Chemicals that were not there 100 years ago and our bodies have no way of screening them out, or knowing what to do with them, once in.
